Wednesday 16th May - liberation - 16 May 2012

Evening

Well done to the winners 4 got away with the Red Arrow leading , quicker than i thought as the wind was very light all the way back. Looks like some have taken a different line and did not come through the Chesire gap as the winning batch must of came A - B.

I am feeling on the tired side myself up at 3am then driving nearly 400 miles. I will update with anymore returns tomorrow night and have a chat about the winners etc.

I also did a video of the lib so will be online in the next 24hrs.

Jeremy.

Evening

Updated result online , the weather has been terrible from start to finish heavy rain all day i am surprised we had any turn in today. I think tomorrow will be dryer day so hoping more will work in. The weather for the rest of the week is not so good so we plan Hot Spot 2 a week Thursday which is 10 / 05 / 2012. This will give time for any late birds to recover and also for me to get a short trainer in etc all being well the weather will pick up for next week if we cannot race on the Thursday will pick a day following that.

I will get some photos of the winners over the next few days to go into the fancy press and the website. I have emailed the final result to the reddings so they can work the pools out tomorrow morning.

Will update tomorrow night..

Jeremy..

Monday - 30 April 2012

 Evening

First of all well done to the winners Bellview lofts with a good team performance followed in by Gribbles Choice which they won the final young bird race last year with another pigeon which was sold at auction. 3rd place going to Wales with the pigeon War. It was a hard race on the yearlings today and looking back its the first time they have faced this kind of head wind also with there being East in the wind different pigeons came to the top. Some have not come A to B and i am hoping they will work in over the next day. These pigeons have a hard programme infront of them and they dont need it easy now to be a winner in the final.

Will update 8pm tomorrow night..

Jeremy..

Training Started - 20 March 2012

Evening

As the weather was good today the yearlings went for there first toss today being only a few miles just to get them back into the swing of things. Cocks going up first then the Hens which this went  perfect with cocks straight back and the hens also. I have started this year to train ene to avoid the line of the Malvern Hills with there being falcons along there and don't want them being liberated to close which i am also going to do this with the young birds. I am just tweaking the ets and hopefully will have results on next week. Next trainer will be Thursday so will update that evening.

Hello All

Its not long now before we start training middle of March short tosses to start with building upto 50 miles before the 1st Hot Spot Race. We have had some Falcon trouble over the last month with a small batch night flying with some never returning the next day so now they are only going out in the mornings until the problem has moved on !! Apart from that the birds are fit and well, early March we will have a full loft list of the present birds in the loft with there new ETS rings when there called over the pads. I will update early March with the latest and a current loft list at that time.

2012 - 10 January 2012

Hello All

Time is flying by with all this mild weather the Yearlings are now out most days and are all looking in great condition. Not alot going on just keeping them ticking over then get them race fit for there 1st race at the end of April.I am looking forward to when the hard works starts as i like the pressure.

Will update at the end of the month with the latest..

Jeremy..

North Road - 14 December 2011

Evening

As promised i am back to let you know the latest after the future of sport meeting which was held today. My proposition was passed by the fos that we race the yearlings North for 2012. Our intention at this point is to have there final race with the NRCC on the 09 / 06 / 2012 from Fraserburgh which at the same time they are Including Queen's Diamond Jubilee Open Race..

This will be an new challenge as we have never raced the Yearlings north but its really going to suit them best as they were raced North as young birds. This will be no easy feat racing from Fraserburgh as being just under the 400 mile mark it will be a true test of what the bird has to offer it will also have to have good homing ability to break away from the main drag going down the East side of the country. Otterburn is on a direct line of flight from Fraserburgh which they already have raced from as young birds and this will be set to be there prep race before the final as Yearlings.

The hot spots we will be looking for them to race against themselves as they did in young birds but we may not count out liberating with other North rd organisations to prep them ready for there Final race which they will be racing against a few thousand birds in the NRCC it might even encourage a few more birds to go from the west side to race in Jubilee Open race at the same time.

I have put a Provisional race programme below but this is not set in stone and can change but your have a rough idea where we are heading. I will take some pictures next week of the birds which are looking in super condition which soon will be fighting there way home from the North of Scotland..

2012 Yearlings - 28 November 2011

Evening

Please find a full list of Yearling entrants on the Entrants tab for 2012 yet again we have well over 200 birds in the Yearling loft. Lyna tells me there are some syndicate name changes yet so this list will be updated , also some of the sexs will change as its hard sometimes to sex them as young birds..

.I have been doing alot of thinking over the last month and how well the birds have done racing on the North as young birds and also how hard it was to turn the birds 2011 onto the south as 2011 yearlings in which they did well but very few came online as they were raced as north as young birds.

We have a meeting with the FOS and i am going to suggest to them to keep the birds racing on the North as Yearlings. How about if we take on the biggest organisation for there final race and race with and against NRCC. I know many birds race to the east side of the country in the NRCC  but look how well these birds raced from Otterburn in strong west wind , get a good distance race on them and a break away kit and they can be there or abouts. This meeting is on the 14th of December and i will try and bring you a new and exciting challenge. Will update after the meeting with the FOS.

The birds in the loft look great, we will be getting them out on the nice days and break them into the Yearling loft. I will get some pictures on before the New Year.

Jeremy..
