All The Best Julie |
| Auction - 22 October 2010Evening
Well its that time of the year again with 300 odd birds going to auction and 220 birds in the Yearling loft, the most we have had the R.P.R.A. One Loft Race is going strong & getting stronger.. I have had a task on my hands in taking 300 odd pictures well 270 are done and 30 or so to be taken tomorrow..Then Anton has the task of loading them onto the website..
I can tell you these birds are 2nd to none and are in perfect health and will grace any stock loft. Tried and tested birds where the entrants are only going to enter there best bred birds. And i have learnt Mr Basket is the best selector and only the very best only come through to the end.
Happy bidding..

| Wednesday Update - 01 September 2010Hello All
There is a update on returns from the final race under the 2010 loft list tab. We are also getting birds turn in from other races so i will put a full list online of the birds in the loft next Wednesday.
I have had phone calls and emails of which route the Yearlings are going well i would like to turn them south across the channel where most of the Nationals are going we all know these birds can fly the north and i think the experince of the north will do them great racing nationals on the south. With the young birds well i think i would like to stay North for 2011 and everyone i have talked to have said the same. But will be having a meeting with the FOS to put new ideas forward to them.

| Monday Race Update - 30 August 2010Hello All
First of all congratulations to all of the prize winners.Talking to the Partnership Owen & Hogarth they have bred 3 in the top 100 of the result also they had 4 birds to the final and 4 birds home. They tell me the winner has Syndicate lofts breeding in its pedigree more details to follow on this in the fancy press, but well done lads you have done it at last!!! It was indeed a faster race than me or the crowd at the lofts waiting for the birds to return just being under the 4 hour mark. These birds must of held a straight line in a gale force wnw wind turning to nw on-route and came down the west side through the chesire gap. If any of the top 50 prize winners want to email any information on there winning birds in the last race or any previous Hot Spot Winners please do so to rpra1loftrace@yahoo.co.uk
An updated result in now online and will update for the next few days of anymore returns.
Speak Soon..

| Race Update - 19 August 2010Hello All
We Marked Wednesday night and i made my way to Ingleton race point at 11pm which i arrived there at 2.50am which then i got my head down for a few hours. At 6am i put the water on and at this point the weather was cold and damp and i knew we had a waiting game on.As time went on the line of flight was clear just the liberation point had to get better and by 9.20 am we had blue Sky direct south. The birds were libbed into a fresh head wind and once they got into a bunch they did a couple of circles and headed direct south online. Somewhere they must of got into trouble as the winners were longer than they should of been taking 4 hours 16 minutes with the winner out in front on his own a brave pigeon in hard conditions. Pigeons have been working in until dark and i am sure alot more would of made it on the day but at the home end its started raining at 4pm and has only just stopped at 8.30 pm. So i am sure if Friday gives us a break many more will turn in.
Will update tomorrow through the day of more returns. I have also done a video of the liberation which will be online tomorrow..
Speak soon...
Jeremy... |
| Wednesday Update - 18 August 2010Pm Update
685 birds have been marked for Hot Spot 4 they will be flying from a distance of 147 miles and with a head wind forecast this will be a good test and i expect them to be over 3 hours. We are hoping to liberate 8.30am weather permitting.. Will get an early result on when i arrive back at the lofts should be about 1pm.. Good luck to One & All..
Jeremy..
Hello All
Looking at the weather sites this morning tomorrow will be our only real chance of good weather forecast for a race, with Friday , Sunday , Monday not looking good we will be running to close to the final race. So i have grabbed the Bull by the horns and we will Mark the birds tonight and race tomorrow with the forecast being dry..
Will update tonight with a marked list..
Speak soon..
Jeremy.. |
| Tuesday Update - 17 August 2010Hello All
The birds at excersise today were back to there normal routine clapping off the lofts and enjoying themselves they are having a happy tonic at the moment and should be race fit for Thursday.
Jeremy... |
| Sunday - 15 August 2010Hello All
The birds were on edge Friday when at excersise and were hard to get down and back into the lofts which i expect could be down to stress and flying through heavy rain does not do them any favours. They were kepted in Saturday to keep them calm and today they will have an open loft for a few hours when the many Federations that have held over have gone through..
Normally they would of had a spin tomorrow to sharpen them up but tomorrow it is my Fathers funeral here is a link http://www.herefordshire.gov.uk/community_and_living/life_events/1401.asp if anyone wants to attend. Then all are welcome back at the Ledbury Rugby Football club to celerbrate his life..
The weather for Tuesday on the metoffice site looks like its going to be closed in with rain ? so its does not look good to get a training toss in because of this and other events we may have to drop the next Hot Spot 4 to another date either Friday or the following Sunday or Monday as we have plenty of time before the main event on the Bank Holiday weekend. We want to make sure the team are 100 % right for the next race as they have been for the past Hot Spots..
As soon as i know when there ready i will let you know.. Will update Tuesday of the latest news.
Speak soon...

| Race Update - 12 August 2010Hello All
What a stressfull 24hrs it been , i left for Leyland last night just after 9pm expecting to be on site for Midnight, well junction 2 M5 a lorry had split containers of clue on the motorway which then they shut and we were diverted. Anyway at Leyland 1am got parked up got the pop up tent up for a nice sleep but oh no heavy rain and gail force winds put a stop to that!! Then security had to move us next door in the morning as car park was full and over head wires in the way.. Well then its was heavy rain till 9am on and off then it started to improve in the meantime doing online flight conditions. They were away at 10am into a light WNW wind turning to NW on-route. I left the site and headed down the M6 after 20 miles light showers then it got worse and it was throwing it down for 50 miles all the way to Stafford. Chesire Gap i could not see it for rain so i hold my hands up we got it wrong!!! But the pigeons got it right !!! and made 50mph which if you had seen what i seen i thought we had blowen it.. Its 18.45 were still 52 short but still dropping in and i would say the brave hearts will make it. It took me 4 hrs to get back Traffic!! so shattered .. Oh forgot to say have done a Video which will be online tomorrow the birds cleared brilliant this time... Also big thanks to Brian Tattersall who came to watch and brought the tucker Bacon & Egg next time Brian
Will update result at 9pm tonight and tomorrow 1pm...

There are showers around tomorrow but will be hoping for a 8.30am liberation and i would say 2 hours 20 flying time..
Will put a result on lunchtime.. Good luck all...

Hello All
The birds were liberated at 8.30am as the weather looked to be getting worse rather than better, they seem a bit nervous this morning at the liberation point and acted funny when liberated but in a minute they had kitted up in one large group and headed home online..

| Saturday - 31 July 2010Hello All
I am sorry to inform you Tim passed away Friday night in hospital, i was with him in the afternoon and we had a good chat and showed him the race result & also took in a video of the pigeons and ducks at home which put him in a better frame of mind, he then went to sleep and passed away a few hours later..
We will do our best to carry on with the Hot Spots as planned over the next few weeks and the final ,were all have to stick together and work on things at this difficult time for me and my family.
There are many friends that we have made over the last 6 years from all over the UK and because of this and our passion with the pigeon racing its our intenions to carry on this year & years to come..
Will possibly train tomorrow if not it will be Monday but will keep you informed...
Regards

| Stafford Race - 29 July 2010Hello All
Well i left at 4am and got to stafford just before 6am the site agent over slept so i could not get on site till 7.30am which then the water was put on.. The weather at this point was dark grey and low cloud with drizzel on-route so it was a waiting game to get a break in the weather and after 3 hours with phone calls on-route and the home end we had a chance to lib which i took there was no sun showing but good visability..
The birds when liberated headed North then after a few minutes turned back and headed online home South taking 6 minutes to be out of sight.. They then made excellent time only taking 1 hour 4 minutes for the 56 Mile trip back to the lofts with a NW Wind large batches at the home end were dropping every few minutes..
So a successful race and now we can look forward to next weeks race..
There will be a updated result at 9pm and then a final result tomorrow afternoon... There also will be a video online later of the liberation..

| Monday Training - 19 July 2010Hello All
We trained 35 miles today as the weather was on ourside we had a sticky one they cleared well splitting into 2 batches with one batch making good time with the other batch taking all day i think they may have got mixed up with south roaders as i have never seen so many strays brought back here in one go as 95 % are south road pigeons in the air i knew they would get into trouble at some point but its a good learning curve for them as it will be a very hard route to fly..
I will put a full loft list on tomorrow night as more will turn in the morning its going to rain tomorrow but they would of had a day off anyway were see how the weather is then move onto the 45 miles when the time is right.. Result now online..

As i said i will keep you informed of how Tim is going on not good news i am afraid he has Cancer in his bladder & lungs which has also spread into his glands and they have told us there is no chance of a operation to remove the cancer..
I am told he has 3 to 12 months to live ? but he has gone very weak so i don't really know, all we can do is give him the best time we can while he is still with us i know he will want to be at Home Farm with the family & birds but will shall see what he wants over the next few days..
Its better to tell you all on here than phoning everyone etc as it is and will be very hard times for me over the coming months as he is my best Friend as well as my Father. I will carry on with the One Loft Race the best i can as i know he wants me to do this your just have to bare with me over this difficult time..
Yearling loft list now online..

| Fridays Training - 16 July 2010Hello All
We had Gail force winds again today so took them back to the 20 Mile point they cleared well apart from a batch of about 80 which turned back as this happened 2 Falcons went into them but missing there prey about 10 or so went into trees and 60 or so turned and headed home with one of the falcons chasing a lone pigeon north we have been lucky with very few missing but 3 have come home injured may of flew into something with panic , its just a nightmare with them.
The main batch missed what had happened and made a good time , we will rest tomorrow and move on Sunday if the Weather is right , Result online later..
Jeremy.. |

| Wednesday Update - 07 July 2010Hello All
No training today but we never had the rain that they forecast but anyway the birds had a loft fly around the pen but they were very spooked and 150 or so were flying 3 hours plus but managed to get them down and in bar about 6 which have been on the wing 5 hours now but by dark they will give in, because of this we wont train tomorrow as i want them to be happy at home.
It maybe the wind got up with the trees blowing about that spooked them but they are on the edge so dont want to take a risk and were see how they act tomorrow and if good we will train Friday, i have taken this chance to put a loft list on which is online now..

The birds were trained again at eight miles as it was overcast and rain due in later they did not clear that well as they picked some trainers going the opposite direction that were liberated just over the hill not seeing us until they got into a large kit and the one loft brought them back to the one lofts but after 20 mins flying around here they cleared and hopefully back home to Stourport.
The one loft birds were libbed just after 10am result will be online later, the weather looks like rain tomorrow were see if we can get another trainer in ?

| Wednesday Training - 30 June 2010Hello All
The Young birds have had there 9th toss today which will be online later the first 4 did not go as were late arrivals from the day before. They were liberated all together which they cleared well and arrived back in a large batch this is only from 8 miles but plenty of short spins is what they need. We still have over 800 training and they seem to be getting the hang of racing back now.
Friday will see them at 15 miles which i have found a nice spot to liberate from which there have a few from here then 25 then 35 miles which there be trained at this point 4 days a week..
Will update Friday night with the latest news..

Have not put training on today but will put another result on at the end of the week when there released together & then a loft list online each Sunday evening. Weather is supposed to break down but will try and work round this as were only short training at the moment.
I am pleased to say Website result listings are now on the Calendar & a seperate tab for a loft list..

| Loft List & Training - 25 June 2010Hello All
The Loft list & todays training has been sent to Anton so he will set the tabs up for you to click on to see the results asap. We started training 900 birds so we lost about 10% with illness hawks flyaways etc which this % is about the normal rate.
Training went well for the first 4 tosses then on the 5th last Tuesday we took a hit from the Falcons there were 4 in total 2 adults with 2 young the adults grabbing 2 out from the one loft kit and letting go for the young to play with while chasing the other kits this being a new lib point that i have moved to i expected the worse on returns.. When i arrived back at the lofts a batch of 100 or so arrived then batches were coming for the rest of the day with a head count of 724 on the day with 50 early next morning and others through the day we were back upto 812 which over 90% back of what we started training we have been lucky on those figures with the deverstation these Falcons can do.
So we gave them a few days off and took them further east from the last point to get them back on track which they got away from this one with no attacks and i stopped the clock when over 700 birds have been timed to sent off to Anton..
They will stop in on race day and will be training Sunday , and then when were happy with them jump them further as usual training results will be online with every toss.
Check back Sunday evening for the latest news & training..

| First batch of Young birds out Today - 05 March 2010 Hello All
Well the weather was perfect nice and calm blue sky's so the first batch of 43 birds went out at 12 noon today and whithin a few minutes they were out the door and on the loft roof with some having a flip about going all directions but they soon settled back onto the loft and after 2 hours having a look about i called them in with the whistle which they all shot in bar a D/C cock which did not want to play ball and got him in just before dark.
So this is the first hurdle out the way and the next batch will go out next week but won't be mixed for 2 weeks at least.
We will see the next batch of arrivals this weekend and a loft list will be put on Monday.
So all is well here.

We have been doing some alterations on the loft ply lining the sections fitting a perverated pipe along the roof space and 2 fans which will replace any stale air in the loft when there on the dark system. Just a fresh coat of paint on the loft and we ready to accept your birds late next month. Please if you can Vaccinate the birds for PMV 7 days before they arrive at the lofts this will boost the immune system against PMV to protect them at the lofts as it takes 2 weeks to protect them fully , this have been advised by the top vets around the world so its to your benifit as well as ours!!

Please note we are only accepting birds to arrive at the lofts on Wednesdays & Weekends as per rules which we are open 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. this is a attempt to have the birds arrive in batches and not add in the odd bird here and there into a section 7 days a week. Also please let me remind you Vaccinate Vaccinate Vaccinate !!!! just with the pmv vaccine at least 7 days before they arrive at the lofts we find it best to do them around 24 days old even if they are in the nest.
Everything is ready for the birds and as always we are dedicated 100 % to getting the best from them.We will get some pictures on when the early birds are in the lofts.

| Alterations - 24 January 2010 Hello All
We have been doing some alterations on the loft ply lining the sections fitting a perverated pipe along the roof space and 2 fans which will replace any stale air in the loft when there on the dark system. Any advice wanted on this you can phone me on 07739148679.

This will is the toughest route to fly from with winds coming mainly from the SW this is going to give us races with the wind bang on there noses. This being overall the birds will be tested to there limit from the borders of Scotland making the winners true champions. Then if you so wish as Yearlings they can be turned south to race over the channel againts Club, Federation & National racing to find a double Champion and i will be personally be putting up a prize for the Ace bird from the Final Young bird race and the Final Yearling race best average Vel from the 2 final races combined, more news on this in the future.
