The BBC World War 1 At Home Tour will visit county shows, summer festivals, air shows and bustling shopping centres the length and breadth of the UK.
A family festival drew more than 30,000 people to Woolwich on Saturday 28th June as part of the annual Armed Forces Day celebrations.
The event, which highlights Woolwich’s links with the military dating back almost three centuries, saw ceremonial displays by the barracks’ parachute display team from the 2nd Battalion Princess of Wales’ Royal Regiment and members of the King’s Troop. It also featured a ‘pigeon loft’, provided by the BBC, that the RPRA has decorated with our display boards and artefacts.
A big thank you to the local fanciers David, Les, Donna and children for helping us out at the Event.
