Diggle Primary School to build its own loft

Diggle Primary School in Oldham has received funding of £1,000 from the RPRA to enable it to build a pigeon loft in its school grounds, and encourage more youngsters to get involved with the sport.

The project is spearheaded by one of the school’s teachers – keen pigeon fancier, Chris Ryan. Read an in-depth article on the Oldham Times website.

The RPRA is offering young people the chance to sign up for membership if they are interested in getting involved with pigeon racing. There are competitions specifically for young members, and those involved will receive discounts to a number of shows.

Any schools which are interested in getting involved and applying for funding from the RPRA for their own lofts should contact General Manager, Ian Evans, on 01452 858240.
