It is with deep regret we have to report that Past President of the RPRA and FCI, Guy Barrett OBE, passed away on Friday 21st July. He died peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the age of 92.
Fellow RPRA Past President, David Higgins, said: “Guy was without doubt the greatest ambassador for the sport of pigeon racing. He touched the lives of many in the pigeon world and his legacy will serve the sport well for many years to come.”
Former RPRA Vice President, Chris Gordon, also said: “The pigeon sport in England today owes a lot to this man and his passing marks the end of an era in pigeon racing. He was a truly exceptional man and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.”
The funeral service has taken place in Horsforth, Leeds.
Our thoughts are with Guy’s family and friends.
