St Andrews Primary School in Oswaldtwistle, who are racing in their first young bird season with Oswaldtwistle Homing Society, this week took 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th positions in a race from Stafford where 15 members sent 192 birds.

Even more amazing is that they only have a team of five Vandenabeeles, which were all back in the loft (right) in the space of six minutes.

Oswaldtwistle HS member, Peter Hargreaves, said “All credit to the Assistant Head Teacher Paul Burns and the children, and not forgetting Paul’s father who has been helping out during the school holidays.”
