The RPRA held a UK Masters Race from Pau on Friday 31st July.
The race was open to all members of the National Flying Club, British Barcelona Club, and Central Southern Classic Flying Club, in 3 sections: Section A = 600 miles & below, Section B = 601 to 700 miles, Section C = 701 miles & over.
The provisional result is below. Click on the image to download the full provisional list to date:
Prize money of £1000 is guaranteed: £350 per section, split into 3 prizes: 1st Section £200, 2nd Section £100, 3rd Section £50. The overall winner also receives a winner’s medallion and framed photo montage of the fancier and his/her winning pigeon, sponsored by Chris Sutton. Diplomas will be awarded to the first 100 positions in the open result, with the overall winner being presented their medallion at the RPRA Awards Gala Evening in Blackpool 2021.
We are hoping that this will be the first of many more races of this kind moving into 2021. The RPRA is keen to encourage a more co-ordinated approach to channel racing. This approach is also being used as a base to promote the sport to a wider audience outside of the the sport of pigeon racing, and is part of the Development Officer’s project that is currently being led by Richard Chambers.
